LinkedIn and Lastdayparty are both social networks that offer online services dedicated to professionals and organizations. The main difference between the two is that LinkedIn focuses on people and their professional experience, while Lastdayparty puts the ideas of professionals for the future at the center of its processes, within various themes.

Business Goal

LinkedIn aims to connect organizations with people for business purposes through the management of a professional social network. LinkedIn's payoff is Connect to Opportunity.
Lastdayparty aims to exploit the collective intelligence of its community to solve the challenges of the 3rd millennium, implementing the best ideas on the market in every area of human knowledge. Lastdayparty's payoff is Your Ideas | Our Future.

LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Launched on May 5, 2003, the platform is mainly used for professional networking, and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs. Most of the company's revenue came from selling access to information about its members to recruiters and sales professionals. Since December 2016, it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft. As of February 2021, LinkedIn had 740 million registered members from 150 countries.
Lastdayparty is a European platform for the management of ideas and innovation, which operates via the web through a responsive technology suitable for use with PCs, tablets and smartphones. Founded on April 26, 2018, it launched its online service at the same time, where collective intelligence is exploited to solve the challenges of the 3rd millennium, after a few years of R&D in partnership with the industry leader, the Israeli company Qmarkets. After almost three years of activity in the experimental phase, Lastdayparty lends itself to making the leap in quality regarding KPI's such as the number of campaigns, the number of registered members, and the number of ideas published.

LinkedIn allows members (both workers and employers) to create profiles and "connect" to each other in an online social network which may represent real-world professional relationships. Members can invite anyone (whether an existing member or not) to become a "connection". The basic functionality of LinkedIn allows users to create profiles, which for employees typically consist of a curriculum vitae describing their work experience, education and training, skills, and a personal photo. Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates. Users can find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one's contact network. Users can save jobs that they would like to apply for. Users also have the ability to follow different companies. The site also enables members to make "connections" to each other in an online social network which may represent real-world professional relationships. Members can invite anyone to become a connection.
Users can interact with each other in a variety of ways:
  • Connections can interact by choosing to "like" posts and "congratulate" others on updates such as birthdays, anniversaries and new positions, as well as by direct messaging.
  • Users can share video with text and filters with the introduction of LinkedIn Video.
  • Users can write posts and articles within the LinkedIn platform to share with their network.
  • Users to "endorse" each other's skills.
  • LinkedIn also supports the formation of interest groups.
Lastdayparty allows professionals and organizations to create profiles, which include the main professional role, with its description, skills, place of residence, and links to their profiles in the main social networks. On the same page all the member's activities will be presented, from votes, to comments, to the publication of ideas, to project activities. The basic functionality of Lastdayparty consists in the publication of an innovative idea that meets the needs of a 3rd millennium campaign. Other members can ask to be part of the team that manages the idea or can participate in the discussion and evaluation, as experts or as members of an evaluation jury. Ideas follow a flow of implementation, from publication, discussion, expertise, evaluation, funding and implementation. Organizations have the option of participating in existing campaigns as members or sponsors or they can fund the launch of an innovation campaign to collect ideas for implementation.
Lastdayparty members can interact with the community in various ways, based on their user profile (normal member, category manager, campaign manager, moderator):
  • Lastdayparty registered members can give a 5-star rating to existing ideas or can comment on them, or can apply to join the idea team.
  • Registered members can post one or more ideas by filling in the submission form, including title, description, category, existing problem, possible solution, budget required for implementation, time frame for implementation, photos and rich media content, and relevant links. An artificial intelligence algorithm presents members with content similar to what they are about to post.
  • Registered members, especially organizations, can bring one or more 3rd millennium challenges to the attention of the Lastdayparty community, which can be launched in the form of an ideation campaign.
  • Lastdayparty also supports the formation of clusters of ideas, or groups of similar ideas, which will be dealt with simultaneously by the community and the administrators.

Idea Management
LinkedIn is not a platform suitable for implementing the best ideas on the market. Instead, it can be considered a social network for the promotion of marketable solutions.
Lastdayparty has a business model based on the collection, discussion, expertise, evaluation, financing and implementation of the best ideas, be they products, services, practices, intellectual property, processes or laws. Ideas posted on Lastdayparty can be shared on LinkedIn.

Personal branding
Both LinkedIn and Lastdayparty are particularly well-suited for personal branding which, according to Sandra Long, entails "actively managing one's image and unique value" to position oneself for career opportunities.

Job seeking
LinkedIn is widely used by job seekers and employers. According to Jack Meyer, the site has become the "premier digital platform" for professionals to network online. LinkedIn allows also users to research companies, non-profit organizations, and governments they may be interested in working for. LinkedIn's Profinder is a marketplace where freelancers can (for a monthly subscription fee) bid for project proposals submitted by individuals and small businesses. LinkedIn is also a proactive networking site, be that for job applicants trying to secure a career move or for salespeople wanting to generate new client leads.
In Lastdayparty the Job seeking process is indirectly concentrated in the ideas published by the members within the innovation campaigns that can be acquired by the partner organizations (companies, non-profit organizations, and governments), recruiting its author or team for the implementation.

Innovation management consulting is emerging as a profession since businesses, nonprofits, governments and public administrations, and other organizations have started prioritizing innovation leveraging collective intelligence.

Innovation is commonly defined as the "carrying out of new combinations" that include "the introduction of new goods, ... new methods of production, ... the opening of new markets, ... the conquest of new sources of supply ... and the carrying out of a new organization of any industry" However, many scholars and governmental organizations have given their own definition of the concept. Some common elements in the different definitions is a focus on newness, improvement and spread. It is also often viewed as taking place through the provision of more-effective products, processes, servicestechnologiesart works or business models that innovators make available to marketsgovernments and society.

Innovation management consultants help organizations establish innovation strategies and programs, and keep innovation on track whatever the field of action.

Organizations of all kinds have watched as innovative companies disrupt industries and change the competitive landscape. Clearly, innovation is no longer optional but is mandatory for maximum success. Innovation management consultants may work with one or more business aspects:
  • Collective Intelligence. The new modus operandi to make innovation consist in the use of innovation platforms through challenges and campaigns crucial for organizations, structured and scientific workflows and the exploitation of collaborators' ideas for which the best will be successfully implemented. A cutting-edge Innovation Management consultant knows these digital technologies and is able to drive innovation by leveraging collective intelligence.
  • Culture. Organizations mired in old ways of thinking have trouble embracing innovation. Consultants help them break out of counterproductive attitudes, both at the top of organizations and in subordinate roles, using for example merit-based techniques, change management tools and incentives.
  • Hiring. Innovation management consultants may help businesses identify the type of talent they need to create a culture of innovation or to play essential organizational roles for innovation, such as in marketing or R&D. By supporting the Human Resources Manager, the Innovation Management Consultant is able to make an essential contribution to the recruitment of the new workforce, in line with the chosen innovation strategy.
  • Goal Setting. Trying to innovate everything at once can backfire. Consultants can help organizations set and articulate goals that support innovation. In fact, in the most performing Collective Intelligence platforms, the innovation campaigns, in whatever context they are, have a launch date, an end date and intermediate stages. Knowledge of the workflows of innovation campaigns by a consultant is essential for defining and respecting the organization's goals.
  • Idea Creation. Innovation management consultants don’t come up with the innovative ideas, but they can help identify problems like bureaucracy and silos that stand in the way of them. Furthermore, through the exploitation of collective intelligence platforms, they can drive the call to contribution, the discussion, the evaluation and the implementation of the most innovative ideas that come from the organization or from the market in the case of open innovation initiatives.
  • Market Identification. Going after the same target markets as competitors isn’t always the best strategy. Consultants can help innovative companies identify underserved markets to target, the most profitable niches or even those in a blue ocean context, based on the organization's strategy and the market opportunities.
Could your business benefit from the services of an innovation management consultant? Here are four signs that it might.

1. You Want to Start an Innovation Program or Department
Companies that have never had an innovation department or that haven’t conducted innovation initiatives may not know where to start. Innovation management consultants help define the scope of the challenge, set milestones, and guide companies through the steps involved in creating innovation initiatives or innovation departments.

2. Your R&D Department Isn’t Getting the Results You Want
R&D can perform better if it’s not cut off from the rest of the organization but sometimes R&D becomes isolated from the rest of the organization and from the outside world. The right consultant can help draw attention to external innovation sources and teach R&D professionals about external collaborations and partnership, both with individuals, start-ups, universities or companies. This can open up channels that will help new innovation ideas flow and increase the chances of innovations becoming reality.

3. You Need to Choose Innovation Tools but Don’t Know Where to Start
Alongside the rise in the importance of innovation has come an increase in the number of innovation tools available. Trying to evaluate them can be overwhelming, but an innovation management consultant can help. Identifying needs and goals and matching them up with the right tools for the job can help innovation go from being a buzzword to being a thriving process and part of the organizational culture.

4. Your Innovation Efforts Aren’t Delivering Results
Maybe you have an innovation program, but the results have been disappointing. A consultant can help you learn where things are going off-track. Perhaps innovation initiatives aren’t getting the internal publicity they need, or maybe the company needs powerful tools to manage and evaluate ideas. Getting to the bottom of why innovation initiatives aren’t working can prevent a company from scrapping its program and having to start over.

The rise of innovation management consultants highlights the importance of innovation to business and administration. Not every organization needs one, but every organization does need to be open to innovation and willing to put in the work required to bring innovations from concept to execution.

Last Day Party is an idea management platform, working with specialized innovation management consultants, that helps organizations like yours tap into the power of innovation and bring great ideas into reality. Your Ideas | Our Future
As World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, Coronavirus has become a pandemic.

The measures adopted by governments in which the spread of Coronavirus has been most important, including China, South Korea and Italy, consist of putting the population in quarantine in order to slow down and stop the infections.

To this end, economic activities that involve the closeness or assemblage of many people must be reduced, controlled or suspended for the period necessary to reduce or eliminate contagions.

Fortunately, modern information technologies today allow people to work from home through smart working, mitigating the penalization of the economy and of the decision-making processes.

In this context, Last Day Party is proud to make its collective intelligence platform available to organizations for which decision-making processes must be guaranteed in a collaborative and scientific way. In this way, for example:
  • Companies can involve their collaborators and their market from home to carry out continuous improvement or open innovation initiatives, linked to new products, services or processes.
  • Public administrations can launch improvement campaigns involving citizens in reporting and effective treatment of malfunctions in the area.
  • Governments can implement their decision-making processes in the formulation of new decrees and laws by involving elected government representatives in a virtual committee that can be decentralized from the walls of the chambers or senates.
  • Universities and schools can have students carry out research at home about the challenges they have the opportunity to launch on Last Day Party.

You are therefore invited to become a member of Last Day Party through the Sign Up to contribute with your ideas to solve the campaigns of the third millennium or to present the challenges that you will want to manage as a company, public administration, institution, government or university.
